Find Your Deepest Why & Unlock More Ease and Flow
.
I was having a conversation with an entrepreneur the other day.
.
He has tremendous monetary success and his products are shown to millions of people all over the world. He cares for his employees. And he is devoted to his wife and children.
.
Yet he is deeply frustrated that he isn’t where he wants to be financially.
.
More specifically, he is frustrated that he can’t buy the kind of house his family deserves. For him, a nice house is a symbol of stability.
.
And the fact that he can’t give them that makes him angry at himself.
.
————–
I feel his pain and frustration.
.
BUT here is the thing, looking to get fulfillment by achievement is like looking to fuel the body by eating dessert.
.
AND the first bite tastes so satisfying. The second bite less so. The third less so. This is called the law of diminishing returns.
.
Ask yourself this question, how long does the high of achievement last before you think about the next milestone?
.
It’s rather fleeting, isn’t it?
.
For my friend here he has his eyes set on buying this house now.
.
What’s predictable is after buying the house, he’ll want the next big symbol of significance, probably within seconds.
.
I’ve met millionaires and billionaires who are miserable because they can’t seem to quench their thirst.
.
The rabbit chasing is never-ending.
———-
Having helped entrepreneurs achieving more flow through my retreats, what I’d say is to look deeper beyond the game of achievement.
.
Find your deepest why.
.
Meditate on the question: ‘Why is this important to me”
And keep going deeper.
.
“Having more money”
“Buy a big house”
“Be a provider for my family”
“Living a meaningful life”
“Ultimate peace”
..etc
.
The deeper you go, the well of motivation also gets deeper.
.
The deeper you go, the fuller and complete you’ll feel.
.
When you practice living from your deepest WHY, you’ll be able to maintain your inner power in spite of outside chaos.
.
PARADOXICALLY, when living your life from your deepest why, achieving your next goal is infinitely more effortless and in-flow.
